About Me, Your Host

Hi, I’m Cecil! I traded a career as an actuary and insurance executive for the vibrant life in Mérida. My love affair with this city began in 2011, and within a week of my first visit, I bought a house. Mérida just made my heart sing with its friendly people, amazing quality of life, and incredible weather.

El Pueblo grew organically from that first house, expanding with adjacent lots over the years into the beautiful oasis it is today. My hope is that your time here—in El Pueblo, Mérida, and the Yucatán—will make your heart sing too.
